  • I feel my creative process bridges, and somewhat amalgamates both intuitive, and conscience realities.

My paintings do not imitate life, but perhaps harness the energy and the essence of life.

In life we are conscience of present realities, yet travel forward with no actual conception of what to expect. My art making process seems to find itself in the same unpredictable reality.

For I surrender a degree of control, yet I feel profoundly that my work does not fall into what could be defined as random or chance.

I feel the process is equally as important as the finished piece. It is a spiritual experience. I find myself channeling to a higher energy or light, in which the medium, the action, and the paintbrush in a sense are an umbilical between the soul, the essence and that of the material world..

  • Emily Klima was born and raised in Port Washington, New York. Attended Boston University School of Fine Art and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design.

Ms. Klima began her robust career in the fashion publication industry as a designer and then art director. After a decade art directing for magazines such as Harper's BAZAAR and GQ, Ms. Klima went on to freelance and start her own graphic design business.

During that time she also rediscovered her love of painting and slowly left the design world behind to put her focus on creating colorful, abstract, mixed media paintings.

Ms. Klima currently exhibits and sells her work across the globe as well as keeps a steady schedule of annual commissioned artworks. Ms. Klima is also the founder of The Artist's Halo—a small but growing, diverse community of artists of all disciplines that support and disrupt the status quo.

  • After a robust career as an Art Director for various fashion publications, I rediscovered my love of painting and felt a strong need to defy what I had been taught about art making.

From that perspective, I began to explore the inherent raw power of abstract painting and how it evokes a freedom to be fully present.

I rarely paint what I see or think I see, but paint with an energetic desire—a call to create. My creative process comes from feeling inspired by life experiences.

There is so much personal growth that occurs in my work. Who "I am” at any given moment is what shows up on my canvas. I am a creative vessel that thrives on emotion and change.

Painting in my studio or showing my work, organically brings out the best expression of myself. My work is alive with color and an energy created by drips and splatters, mixed media, collage elements and text. Added layers of resin or the use of oil sticks give my work a glossy or velvety finish.

I exploit my formal training in drawing or painting to break free of its strictures. In all of my work, there is a consistent exploration of tension between order and chaos—discipline and freedom. Every painting contains within it my process of moving from control to letting go of control, and back again.

My current work of abstract, mixed media and collage paintings are an expression of my year during the pandemic. In many ways disrupted, yet also incredibly elevated

  • I trained as a dentist and worked professionally in several capacities until retirement in 2003. Then came my "bucket list"-

Learn to sail: buy a boat: cross the Atlantic and a  myriad of other risk-prone adventures.

"Very late-onset mid-life crisis," said, friends :( at least the 3rd said I)

Along the way, I dabbled in acrylics, and although I could paint very good copies of portrait photos, I could never achieve a convincing result painting real people.

In 2018 with my 75th birthday on the horizon, I began to think about less risky hobbies that might last me into my dotage.

I've always been a bit of a Jackdaw, attracted to shiny metal -

And so it came to pass that I decided to have a go at stainless steel sculpture.

So I took a one-day welding course and emerged an "expert "(not), bought a load of very ancient, very cheap but clapped-out machines and transformed my garage into a workshop.

I decided at the outset to try and use recycled metals scavenged from scrapyards wherever possible.

Thence began a long and very steep learning curve ( almost vertical on occasions and sometimes overhanging).

So I became a self-taught metal worker and metal sculptor and along the way learned a little about electromechanical systems.

After 6 months of hard work my first large piece emerged. ”Buddhas Enlightened – A metaphor for Change” which combined traditional metalworking techniques with modern technology.

Family and friends were very surprised by the result which had been under wraps till completion - "you seem to have a knack" said one - all the more surprising as I'd never before shown any symptoms!

And so, having  very recently connected with my "inner sculptor", and armed with newly found skills and a recipe I had stumbled on in my first project, I felt emboldened to have a go at Chaiya 2020 - theme,- "God is...."

“Light at the end of the Tunnel – a Metaphor for Hope” was the outcome and I was fortunate enough to make it through to the winner’s exhibition in May 2021 at the OXO Tower Gallery in London.

My most recent work is a Covid inspired small-scale working prototype to demonstrate the principle of my ideas for a much larger work, which I hope to build as a commissioned piece.

  • Born and raised in a politically violent Buenos Aires, Cukier chooses colours and shades that reveal a yearning for a less superficial, less deceptive reality.

The forms, dimensions, and colours give shape to dreams and nightmares and even allude to a notion of hope. Humour is used to reflect fears, habits, and desires that most of us deny and suppress deep within.

  • I admit I’m so addicted to painting. I spend so much time painting and thinking about painting instead of doing more “useful” things. I strongly believe that a painting has a life of its own that evolves during painting sessions. It develops as I draw lines and apply colours on the canvas.

Khalid’s abstract style, bold and fearless brush work allow him to communicate emotions and mode felt at the moment of painting. His paintings are gestural, impactful and full of movements.

Each of his pieces is full of warmth, life and colour, which reflects the man behind the brush perfectly. His lively brush strokes, whether straight or more playfully curving and dancing, always convey a sense of emotions and delight in his art.

He obviously loves to paint. The viewer sees this and it is rather contagious, joyful and energizing.

Each of his pieces is full of warmth, life and colour, which reflects the man behind the brush perfectly. To him, creativity is a derivative of mode and ambience during painting sessions.

He believes that the character of a painting reflects the mode of the artist thru brush strokes, texture and colour. He believes that a painting has a life of its own that evolves during a painting session. It develops as he draws lines and colours on the canvas.

  • In my paintings are reflected and impressed different moments and frames of mind. With my art, I try to provoke the viewer and have an effect on him through simplification of form and colour intensity, which are often substandard.

Body - it says it all .....

The female figure dominates, it's an overexposed image of the artist and his mood. My paintings often reflect on those little moments that make us happy - love, family, nature - time that we want to stop in everyday life and enjoy the moment or the ability to live in the moment - here and now ....

By searching for colour harmony and balance I caught a pulse, reflected thoughts, sensations, which emerged from the subconscious - real and unreal.

My paintings have a different sound - tenderness, dreamy, peace, love, even sadness because they reflect the mind and world of women – of human and "Bitterness is even in the cup in the best love: because it excites longing for the Superman because she excites hunger in you – the artist! "said Nietzsche

  • My artwork primarily focuses on the outdoors and the beauty of nature. I am mesmerized by the ever-changing world around us, and I love to experiment with various subject matter, bold and subdued colors, contrast, texture and perspective.

Although I have extensive experience with pencils, charcoal and pastels, I currently work exclusively as a digital illustrator.

Each drawing I create is meant to convey a mood; whether it's a cheerful, bright, colorful sunset at the beach or a lonely, mysterious evening at sea, I hope to expose the viewer to a small snapshot of what Mother Nature has to offer.

  • The feeling of merging with a machine becomes a future that no one ever supposes to know.

I study the sunlight’s emotions covering the day and immerse myself in the ability to understand the states of things beyond their surface. I chase the beauty, some implacable sense of perfection measures it.

Painting is a magical ritual, often bordering on occultism, communication with an invisible world. In today's modern digital world, the "image" is a way of communication, it has lost many of its authentic values making it a separate object of art.

What I experience in a few minutes listening to a favourite piece of music or watching a favourite painting, turns every corner of my mind, changes my life forever, the speed of feelings are Light. Now I travel between worlds.

There are many possibilities and the choice is always mine. This ruthless innocent power is a cosmic language, one of the most perfect human creations.

  • I paint because I need to. I paint what my hand wants to paint.

Brooke Major, is an American artist born 1979 and native of Atlanta, GA. She has been living and working as a professional artist and sharing her time between the USA (Georgia) and France for the past 20 years.

As a child, Brooke has always been top of her class in drawing and painting, as well as an avid equestrian, which led her to move to Normandy to breed and raise them for the sport of showjumping.

She moved initially to Paris to study political science at an American university, but felt herself drawn more towards the arts and followed auditing classes at the Beaux Arts school in Paris.

Brooke sculpts oil paint, using palette knives challenging both techniques of painting and sculpting and exemplifying light and shadow. She chooses all of her subjects from her childhood experiences: travelling, horses and architecture.

Brooke also depicts her everyday life in her recent subject of her landscapes of the typical Normand countryside.

  • As an archaeologist, philosophical counsellor and multi-media artist my poetic and material research as an informal ecologically-oriented artist moves from an imaginative process and a mental synthesis, that proceeds to materially developing a dialogue among the elements in a work.

By enjoying the use of traditional materials of fine arts, mixed with recyclable and technological ones, and by applying the maximum degree of freedom in the selection of the materials and mediums.

To create art I follow the abstract desire and process to make visible the invisible that is inside us and beyond us. By focusing my philosophical and poetic attention on the colors and their sounds, which represent further dimensions.

My creative mission is to invent or to reinvent the objects - maintaining a humanistic vision, as for example "Poor art of luxury collection" expresses.

  • As a competitive Ballroom Dancer since childhood, I have worked to improve my understanding of the human form and its place in the environment. Small, mixed media, rapid sketches develop into larger pieces and oil paintings in the studio.

This practice has allowed me access to unique environments over my career from the Queen’s Speech at the State Opening of Parliament, backstage access to the 'King and I' musical at the London Palladium, Sadlers Wells Theatre and Ronnie Scotts.

Of late this viewpoint has taken a step back as I am now looking to the specific place in the wider world. Looking to landscape, I am concerned with our managed environment and our continuing developmental relationship with the immediate environment.

Looking for rhythm and repetition in the environment around him, Glenn is inspired by Fractal Geometry drawn to cycles and synthesis in the rock formations of a landscape, the foliage of trees or in the rolling form of clouds.

He makes pen and ink sketches and mixed media drawings, which later evolve into oil paintings, celebrating the colour and wonder around us and how we as a species fit within it.

Glenn uses a synthetic palette creating bright, bold visions of the world but is concerned with the majesty of our natural environment, mans management of it, our National Heritage and history.

With an increasing detachment and disregard from the world around us, Glenn forces the real world back before audiences to appreciate once more.  He particularly likes the way a canvas freezes a moment yet allows space for his reaction and emotion to be thrust upon an audience.

  • I am an Italian 32-year-old/performer and abstract painter. I was born in Rome and now I am based in Berlin, Germany.Improvisation is the engine of my way of painting.

My style is inspired by nature, dance and natural movement, trying to express the beauty of unpredictability. I think of my way of painting to be very spontaneous and instinctive, the same way I like to move when I dance.

Nothing is planned beforehand and only after I stop painting, I see something in it.

  • I am a self-taught artist from Nova Scotia, Canada. Born and raised on the East coast, I enjoy making paintings that reflect local landscapes and wildlife. I work primarily in acrylics and I strive to achieve a realistic style as I develop as an artist.

To visually express the power of a creature, landscape or a feeling is my greatest privilege. Painting Canadian wildlife and landscapes began as a passionate hobby, and has become my profession.

Celebrating the life that surrounds us in this beautiful country is such a joy.My own transformation into living a creative life, and the inspiring, magnificent beauty I see in Canada’s wild spaces has moved me to change my focus and begin a wildlife collection.

My home in Nova Scotia was the perfect starting point for me, and I hope to expand across the nation and capture the diversity of our wildlife on canvas.

  • Richard was born in Leicester in 1976 and attended the School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire from 1997 – 1999 where he graduated with a BA (hons) in Fine Art.

He later attended the Art School at De Montfort University from 2002 – 2004 where he gained his MA in Fine Art. Since graduating Richard has worked as a successful Fine Artist as well as an art lecturer and adult education tutor. His work continues to be exhibited and sold internationally.

Richards work explores the natural and sometimes urban environment, be that through landscape or more detailed close-up work. He often looks for simple and subtle things that catch his eye, such as the way beams of light enhance certain colours in part of a scene or how the textures of objects are in contrast to their surroundings. He also explores the mundane little things that people often don’t notice and works at finding balance and harmony in his subjects.

As his artwork develops it often takes on its own abstract personality separate from the original subject. Although he is trying to capture the subject, he allows the painting to develop instinctively through intuitive and emotional response.

This assists him in creating visual balance whilst also allowing him to explore the properties of the oil paint. The finished artwork is often evocative because of this process.

  • I like drawing live in front of people. I like to draw on a large scale- 60x60cim and with an easel. I use pencil mostly, but sometimes I add touches of coloured pencil. In the past I have worked in watercolour and painted street scenes and I have also worked in oils, but none of this has the immediacy and spontaneity of working live and just in pencil.

I suppose I am interested in people and their moods. I like to draw people doing stuff, whether sitting bored, on a train, or playing pool, or practising boxing, I like action scenes and I like drawing them.

I am interested in drawing people who may not be anyone and who might be written off as ‘yobs’ or ‘wasters’ but I like to depict them with all the dignity I can give them, which a pencil drawing can do, and which a camera doesn’t seem quite as able to do. In this way, I suppose, I am challenging preconceived ideas about people.

  • I believe the only real power we have in life is our ability to perceive, as well as alter our perceptions of reality. And it is that perception that I have expressed through my paintings. Life is largely a matter of perception, and so are my paintings.

My work is acrylic, on cotton canvas and I always paint on the floor, from that perspective and being able to walk around a canvas, I feel free to express myself. I tend to focus on size and shape and the visual possibilities that a canvas can give to a room. The options in size are unlimited and that aspect is very fulfilling, for me, at times, the bigger the better.

A painting is like a window to an endless view. The idea of a painting is derived from my desire to "dress up" a wall or surface that crosses my path.

My wish is to give life to space and, in so doing, to search the eyes of the people who witness life, and subsequently make them feel alive. Expression via canvas is meant to be shared, understood, or at least be considered. I hope to continue creating brushstrokes and colorful blending techniques as I continue to relate my life perceptions.

  • My work combines my painting skills and 3D modelling skills with influences from past and contemporary art.

I try to create paintings that leave the viewer with pleasant emotions and a new starting point for further artistic exploration.

My main goal when painting is to capture the viewer’s attention and to keep their focus within the painting, while offering an opportunity for pleasurable contemplation.

  • Since starting to make and participate in art professionally I have become more aware of my present socio- cultural context.

Various indications of our reality’s crookedness impressed me. Today’s human has achieved lots of goals that are not exactly in his favor. Mass culture has a destructive influence on our lives, both literally and metaphorically.

  • I am a British artist currently living near Düsseldorf, Germany and working out of a studio in Werden, Essen.

Although the main thrust of my practise is painting I work across a range of media; drawing, collage, resin and sculpture.

I am particularly consumed by the human experience, generating personal mythologies that re-work a generic sense of nostalgia. My work tends to refer to an atmosphere loaded with the character of inertia; the antonym of anticipation.
